A southern California native, I moved to Orange County at 3 years of age and have lived here for most of my life, with stints up in Berkeley, Oakland, Sacramento, and Canyon Lake for college, work, and family.
I currently work as a web developer for a local internet start-up, but my primary background is in public and news libraries. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in History from CSU Fullerton, as well as a Masters of Library & Information Science from San Jose State. My research subject specializations include: public records, demographics, statistics, genealogy, history, and journalism. My web specializations include database/interface development and information architecture. I am an avid genealogist, walker, foodie, reader, and Harley enthusiast. I also sing and dance with Harborlites, an international championship show chorus based out of Anaheim.
In addition to my "real" job, I do freelance web and database development, genealogy research, and web technology consulting on the side, mostly for non-profits and for professional colleagues.
I became involved with Orange County history as an undgrad at CSU Fullerton, and joined HCC in 2005, while working as a research librarian for The Orange County Register. Prior to my employment at The Register, I worked for Mission Viejo Library. Although no longer a practicing librarian or able to regularly attend HCC meetings, I stay involved with the Orange County local history community as HCC's web mistress.
