Celebrate the holiday season in the tradition of Orange County's past at Heritage Hill Historical Park in Lake Forest. The park's 27th Annual Victorian Christmas will be held Saturday, December 6, 2008 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Four historic buildings are adorned in turn-of-the-century holiday finery and will be hosted by costumed docents. The Bennett Ranch House and the Serrano Adobe feature quilt displays, weaving and spinning demonstrations. Performances of "Puff the Magic Dragon" will be held on the Bennett Lawn while local song and dance groups, strolling Victorian carolers and more entertainment fill the Pepper Tree Stage near the park entrance. A walking puppet elf, talented juggler and organ grinder and monkey can be found entertaining along the park paths. Local Scouts will sing holiday favorites throughout the day. Children can participate in old-fashioned hands-on activities of churning butter, candle dipping, decorating cookies with Mrs. Claus, make their own ornaments and plenty of free crafts to create. Historic exhibits provided by the Western Antique Power Association and the Saddleback Area Historical Society will add to the day's festivities along with model trains and woodworking demonstrations. In the schoolhouse, hear publisher Doug Westfall talk about local history books or stop along the park paths to learn more about an assortment of Orange County historical associations. Adults can cross items from their holiday shopping lists at the handicraft booths and children under twelve can shop by themselves for family and friends at the Children's Shopping Booth. Giftwrap included! Children of all ages can have their face painted, stop by the historic mission to sit as your silhouette is cut by the silhouette artist for a nominal fee and visit with Santa by the antique wagon. Support local organizations with a snack purchase or buy a sprig of traditional mistletoe to continue the holiday magic at your home!

Special Instructions: 5 Freeway to Lake Forest Drive, turn east and drive two miles. Turn left on Serrano Rd, and right into the first driveway on Serrano, just 150 feet from Lake Forest Drive. Park is on your left after entering driveway. Extra parking on Serrano Rd.
