Orange County Public Library historical images collection

I just stumbled upon the Orange County Public Library's historical images collection today.

It looks like the collection was launched back in June, and it currently consists of just under 1,100 digitized images from various Orange County historical organizations.

OCHCC Site Update: Functionality added to support recurring events

A note to all OCHCC site members who post content...

I've added functionality to support marking calendar entries as recurring events (weekly, monthly, yearly, etc.). This will help by not forcing you to enter each individual entry as a separate event.

Note the "Repeat" option under the Start and End dates in the submission form.

However (there's always a catch!), there's a bit of a glitch. In order to access the "Repeat" field and menu, the handy dandy HTML text editor has to be turned off, and then turned back on so that all our non-HTML-programmer members can still use the text editor.

And......we're back!!

The month of October has already been a busy one. The Santa Ana History Room has been present at the National History Day at NARA. It was a fantastic event, and it is always exciting to see high school youth excited about history.  As always our collection on Mendez v. Westminister was a talking point but some of our other collections were highlighted as well.  Recently, we were apart of the 11th Annual Cemetery Tour by the Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society, as usual it was a great success and they sold out every tour.  For now we are weathering the budget crisis and these tough economic times with everyone else. I am hopeful and I look forward to seeing a large turnout for this year's election on Nov.
