The 2009 Images of Orange County calendar is available for sale by the Orange County Mexican American Historical Society (OCMAHS).

Calendars may be purchased for $10 plus shipping/handling (or in person at Calacas in Santa Ana), but are included with a $15 annual membership to OCMAHS.

Irvine family photo archives exhibit

Don't miss out on the slide show presentation this Saturday, November 15th, at the Katie Wheeler branch library, featuring photographs from the Irvine Family Archive.

November 15, 2008 (10:00am - 12:00pm)

Eric Jessen, the retired Chief, Orange County Harbors, Beaches & Parks, will deliver a slide-show presentation of historic photographs drawn from the Irvine Family Archive on Saturday, November 15, 2008, 10 AM, at the Katie Wheeler Branch Library, 13109 Old Myford Road in Irvine.  Mr. Jessen’s role in developing the Orange County Park system brought him into frequent contact with Irvine Family members.  In preparation for the 1997 Irvine Regional Park Centennial, he worked with the family to archive 130 years of private Irvine family photographs and family movies dating back to the early 1900’s.  Mr. Jessen will draw from this archive to illustrate the Irvine family history, contributions and genealogy. Family portraits, scenes of ranch life, social gatherings, and family homes will be presented.  A question and answer period will follow the presentation.

Registration for this event is required and can be obtained by calling the Katie Wheeler Branch Library at (714) 669-8753.  Seating is limited.  There is no admission charge.
